The original Rolex Day-Date was magnificently created in 1940 by the Rolex Company, headed up by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis. These two men who were already well known for their watch making skills created the Rolex Company in 1904 and later went on to register it as a trademark in 1908.
